This is one of the numerous recipes for Bolognese. It is a bit different than others because of the Worcestershire sauce. Even though cooking time is more than 2 hours, so it is not a fast recipe, it is great because you can freeze the sauce and use it for quick lunch or dinner. Just unfreeze it and mix it with cooked pasta or make lasagna with it.
Instructions
- Place saucepan over medium heat. Coat pan with oil. Then add onions, carrot, celery and season it with a salt. Cook it for 15 min.
- Add garlic and mince and stir it for 10 minutes.
- Pour red wine and cook it for 5 minutes.
- Add tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and salt if needed. Grate nutmeg and stir it.
- Reduce heat and cook it for almost 2 hours. During cooking process occasionally stir the sauce and add some water (when sauce evaporates a bit).
- 10 minutes before sauce is ready cook pasta according to package directions.
- When pasta is cooked drain it and then stir in sauce and add parsley.
